Clean the coated webbing
We have introduced that coated webbing is a kind of waterproof webbing, which is the nylon or polyester inner webbing outer coated with plastic layer. The plastic layer usually can be PVC , TPU or silicone. Generally, coated webbing is used for fashion bags, fishing bags and other outdoor products. It is because of the feature of coated webbing such as water resistance, abrasion resistance and easy to clean. Actually, there are several methods to clean coated webbing. Before talking about the clean method, let’s assume that we got a coated webbing belt.
1. Wipe by towel
If there are some dirt such as dust and beverage stain on coated webbing, we can use wet towel or a piece of wet tissue to wipe the dirt. This method is suitable for the small areas of dirt.
2. Rinse
Because coated webbing is waterproof, we can rinse the webbing without any scruples. After rinsing, just wipe dry the webbing. Or maybe you can choose to let the water drops evaporate naturally if you like.
Coated webbing is abrasion resistant. It is durable and not easy to break. If the coated webbing is so dirty that it can’t be cleaned by wiping or rinsing, just wash it by brush. An old toothbrush or a shoe brush is good tool.
4. Wash machine
If you have no time to wash the coated webbing belt, and you have no cleanliness, just put the belt into wash machine. When the machine is off, you will get a clean belt. We don’t need to worry the belt would be destroyed by the wash machine. Of course, the leather belt are not supposed to clean by this way.
5. Use medicinal alcohol
The medicinal alcohol has no color and won’t add new stain on coated webbing. If we can’t clean the coated webbing through the four methods above, using medicinal alcohol to wipe the dirt is good to try.
