Waterproof coated tubular webbing strap

This is the jacquard tubular webbing, which is usually used for bags, outdoor gears and garments. Compared with regular nylon webbing, tubular webbing has enclosed edge to help hands avoiding scratch. But as sames as the nylon webbing, tubular webbing is easy to get dirty and not easy to clean. That's because of the materials. However, there are two methods to make tubular webbing waterproof.

The first method is adding waterproofing agent. It is a kind of surface finish technology. The waterproofing agent will become a waterproof membrance on surface of tubular webbing. When water or some juice drips on the webbing, the waterproof membrance will block the water droplets. But if it under the rain, the waterproof membrance will be not work dealing with plenty of water. And there is another bad news: the waterproof membrance will be gradually damaged after washing and using.

The second method is coating with TPU film. The TPU coated tubular webbing will have better waterproofing performance. Because the TPU film is too thin, so that the coated jacquard webbing nearly keeps the original texture. You won't notice a piece of waterproof film on surface unless observe it carefully. 

These two methods can help tubular webbing be spill-resistant but not waterproof. Neither of them can deal with plenty of water when raining or wade into the water. To achieve the function of water resistance with 360 degrees, TPU coated webbing supported by extrusion technique will be the right choice.
