Piping cord is usually used for apparel, bags and furniture. Generally, piping cord for apparel, pillow and sofa is cotton, nylon or polyester. But piping cord for bag is usually plastic or leather, which is harder than textile piping.

Textile piping cord might not be replaced, but nowadays many fashion bags use TPU piping cord. Especially for some transparent fashion bags. We have introduced that TPU is a kind of eco-friendly and stink-proof plastic. Just as its name implies, TPU piping cord is the piping cord made of TPU.

Compared with textile piping cord, TPU piping cord can be glossy and shining to give the bag more sense of fashion. Moreover, TPU piping cord is much more wear-resisting than leather one.

We have two types of TPU piping cord. One is pure TPU piping cord, the other is TPU coated piping cord. They are both produced by extrusion, but have different materials. Pure TPU piping cord only contains TPU material. Generally, we will add toner according to customers’ requirement. On contrast, TPU coated piping cord has a piece of polyester rope inside. Usually, the outside TPU piping keeps its original color to show inside colorful rope.
